Episode 16: Fascism and Robots
Posted on: September 28, 2008
Before the idea for this podcast occurred to me, I had met a few folks at a local cafe here in Toronto and we tossed around the idea of having a podcast that was simply a recording of a group of folks in a cafe talking about whatever issues came to mind. While the others never were interested enough to follow through with the podcast, my enthusiasm for creating a collaborative podcast led me to coming up with the idea for this podcast. Almost a year after the first meeting in the Toronto cafe, I found myself in Montreal for Podcamp Montreal and we took the opportunity to record a couple of live episodes. This first episode was recorded at La Brulerie St. Denis where we discussed whether or not “new media” is really that new if it is commercially supported.

Wow! It seemed like someone in this episode was anti-corporation for the sake of being anti-corporation — preferring not to see the opportunity to learn tricks and lessons from them. As always, Jay and Val offered some incredible insights.
